Pearl joys!

Freshwater pearls are the best, they are lovely and thousands are wearing them every day! They make perfect accessories to any outfit and can create a look that you have desired for quite some time. Did you know that they can either be naturally produced or cultured? It is great to think that it is the only living gem that is created by a living organism, whether cultured or not. They both have imperfections but with their imperfections results in one-of-a-kind look that can’t be reproduced. They are simply unique.

Morality on TV

My husband and I have had directv for the last three years, and we have been very pleased with our service. My complaint is not with the provider but with what is on television in general. I feel like there are more shows dedicated to sex, drugs, and immorality than ever before. There are hardly any shows that I feel comfortable watching with my children, and it is very disappointing as a parent. I am constantly looking for positive characters on television for the sake of my family. However, there are simply very few honest, virtuous, and faithful characters on television today. Instead, there is a blurred line between right and wrong, and often the main characters will do things that are dishonest or immoral. I am not looking for television characters to serve as the role models for my children. I am simply hoping that the values we have tried to teach our children will not be undermined by what they have seen on television. Some people might call this way of thinking old-fashioned, but I am a firm believer in teaching children the clear lines between right and wrong.

Wood Stairs

Everywhere in the world there are multiple level buildings. If you are going to get from one level to the next you are going to need stairs. Stairs have been around since the beginning of time. Steps were built into mountains to help people climb. Stairs can be artistic or they can just be stairs built to help you get up and down. There are many different parts that go into a stairway. You need to get the treads and risers. One part that can come in many different styles is stair railing. Some stairs don’t have any handrail depending on where they are. Some have railing on both sides depending on the expected traffic and how wide the stairs will be. There are also a few different types of metal that can be used in to build stairs. Aluminum is the lightest metal and is often used to build treads.

When my business partner signed us up for San Diego T1, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was happy enough with the service we had and hesitant to change out of an if it’s not broke don’t fix it mentality. However, he is the brains behind our technology so I let him make the decision. Little did I know how it could change the way we do business. It’s much easier to multi-task. I never realized how slow and bogged down our connection got late in the afternoon or when several of us were trying to do multiple things at once. The down side is, I’m not drinking as much coffee. I don’t have the breaks created from downloading large files. In fact, I now find myself getting impatient at home waiting for my internet. It’s amazing how quickly we can become used to something we did not even know we were missing! So far I’ve managed to keep my wife and kids off the server at work. Once they experience it, they are going to want it at home!

My father in law just had knee replacement surgery. His knee has been bothering for a while and the doctor finally told him that the best solution for him was to have the surgery. He is pretty tough and I knew he would get through the surgery just fine. I was little worried about him doing the physical therapy after the surgery though. He can be pretty stubborn and normally if he does not want to do something, he is not going to do it. I was trying to think of interesting ways that he could exercise his knee without getting bored. I went online to www.DirectStarTV.com and found a listing for Exercise TV. I also found out that Exercise TV was available on demand. I told my father in law about it and we went through a few of the shows together. He found a few exercises that would help him strengthen his knee without being too difficult. I think he is actually going to do these exercises and recover even more quickly. I hope he sticks to it!

Expecting our first baby

My husband and I have been married for almost two years and we just found out we are going to be parents! We are so excited. We dated for six years before we got married and have always talked about kids. Now the day will soon be here. We have already started preparing the house. We got those inserts to put into the electrical outlets. I don’t remember what they are called, but everyone knows what I am talking about. We had a Glendale HOME Security system installed. I have always been a worrier and I knew having a baby would only make it worse. Therefore, my husband decided to be proactive and go ahead with the install. He knew it would make me feel better and he was right. We have also already installed the car seat into both of our cars. I know it is overkill, but you never know when you will need it and I want to feel prepared. My friend had her baby six weeks early and wasn’t prepared at all. The truth is I am just trying to avoid the feeling of not being prepared, but I still can’t wait for the little one to get here.

I have been trying to save my friend some money. She has been in a downward spiral for months now. To be honest, I can’t blame her. Things have been pretty bad lately. He only daughter decided to move out of the house and live with a boyfriend. She lost her job and to top it off her husband asked for a divorce. With all the changes, she has needed a lot of help. I told her I would work on saving her some money at home, while she tried to find a job. So far, I have had some good success on www.shopelectricityratestexas.com and I have also been successful talking with the cable company. It is amazing how helpful people can be when you threaten to cancel. While I know it would save her even more money to cancel everything, I knew that would make life much worse. I have almost cut her utilities bills in half and tomorrow I am going to see if the landlord will reduce her rent. I figure it doesn’t hurt to ask.

You can have an amazing wardrobe, but if you don't know how to accessorize then you're really not putting it to its full potential. You could say that I'm kind of an accessories hound because I'm actually starting to run out of places to keep all of my necklaces. The thing that I love the most about accessories though is that if you lose weight, you can still wear them.

But I've been buying less jewelry from Forever 21 lately and more from vintage stores because vintage jewelry lasts so much longer. I've been using my wireless internet Tacoma a lot to look up vintage stores in my area that will have great jewelry selections.

I think that vintage costume jewelry is always a great way to start with vintage shopping if you're still a bit weirded out by wearing a strangers clothes. But I'm past that at this point and am also buying a bunch of vintage clothing too. Some of this stuff is really cheap if you hit the right stores. I love telling people that my stuff is vintage, it makes me sound like such a fashionista!

Geez, I hate when it gets hot like this outside. My skin always sticks to my leather seats and my hair falls flat the second I walk outside. I know I asked for it by moving down here to Georgia but when people talked about the humidity I had no idea they’d be talking about something like this! Anyway, I’ve been leaving my doors and windows open a lot during the day to make sure the house doesn’t get too stuffy and because of that I’ve gotten a lot more worried about my security when I’m here all alone. I went to http://SECURITYchoice.COM and looked into security systems and I’ve been trying to go through the whole house every day before I leave to make sure everything’s closed up but you never know what you might forget! Anyway, summer here is rough but I do like living so close to a pool and being able to wear sundresses 6 months out of the year, so that’s a definite plus. I’ll get used to it!

The oscars are a winner for family fun

Every year, my family and friends get together to celebrate the fantastic spectacle that is the Oscars. For us, it is not just an awards show, but a major event.

I host A big Oscar Awards party every year. It is always pot luck, and there is always way too much food. The left overs alone make the party worth while.

Once the guests arrive, the satellite tv from www.tvbydirect.com is switched on, and the festivities are underway.

A treasure hunt featuring hints related to the nominated actors and movies is played during the pre-show commercial breaks.

The awards show itself is viewed as a spirited competition between party guests. We all pick favorites to win.

When the show ends, the party guest who has guessed the most winners correctly wins the big prize. A sack filled with a dollar bill from each person at the party. I have yet to win the big prize, but there is always next year.

My favorite part of the festivities is watching Joan Rivers and her crew of fashionistas pick and pan the wardrobe, make up and hair of all of the stars that walk the famous red carpet.

Our annual Oscar party, while simple and easy to plan, is as important to my family as holiday gatherings. It is not a solemn event, but rather, serious family fun.
